Mondays Around the Web – Acts of Faith Blog
Blogger Faith Dow, of Acts of Faith has an entire blog dedicated to “explor[ing] how we manifest what we believe”. Blog topics vary from Proposition 8, feminism, and empowerment, among other things. Today’s Monday Around the Web post features her comments on “When Advertisers Positively Acknowledge Black Women”. In this post, she identifies some commercials that positively portray black women (surprisingly, I haven’t seen these!), including the Gain commercial with Tomeko Fraser Hines.

Although the 2 remaining commercials in her blog post do not have actors with natural hair, she focuses on “normalizing” portrayals of African American women and girls.
