A Deviation from the norm – “woman with natural hair angered by TSA Hair search”
July 9, 2011 by
That’s right. You read that correctly. A woman with natural hair was subjected to a hair search in an airport recently.
Watch the video to see for yourself.
After you watch this, tell me this: what in the world does a head covering (i.e. for religious purposes) have to do with natural hair?
This post and its content represent a deviation from the norm in more ways than one. 1) Even though it is about natural hair in the media, it is not about our natural hair in advertisements (I just had to share it, though!). 2) Being natural is likely still considered a deviation from the norm both inside and outside our community.
Random aside: Oh, and may I just say that her hair is gorgeous! More importantly, I understand her outrage.
